Mr. Arthur Van Harper (also known as "Banner") departed this life on May 28,2015 at the age of 87. He was an avid farmer and loved working in his gardens.

Mr. Harper was one of four sons of the late Will and Nettie Lou (Law) Harper. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary Frances Parker and to this union, they had two sons: John Arthur (Betty) Harper of Gallatin, TN; Nathaniel (Mary Frances) Harper of Castalian Springs, TN.

He leaves to cherish is memory, his wife, Helen (Bennett) Harper of Hartsville, TN, brother, Paul (Senator Thelma) Harper of Nashville TN. Step Children: John R. Marshall( Deceased) of Hartsville TN, and Laura (William) Holman of Castalian Springs, TN. a host of Grandchildren, Step Grand children, Three great- grand children and Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends, will also cherish his memory as well as close friend Daniel Rickman.
