Visitation : Monday- Dec. 8, 2014 @ 5pm-7pm @ Strawther & White Chapel, Home- going service : Tuesday, Dec. 9,2014 @ 12 noon-1pm. Funeral to follow @ 1pm @ First Baptist Church, Gallatin, TN.

Mr. James Douglas Burnley "Doodie" was born on October 13, 1943 in Trousdale County to the late Mr. Sam Burnley and Vera Hogan. He made a peaceful transition on December 3, 2014 to be with the Lord. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and served as an Usher for many years. Mr. Burnley was also a faithful member of Masonic Lodge 361 in Hartsville, TN.
Mr. Burnley worked Charles C. Parks Co. for over 15 years and volunteered at Sumner Regional Hosptial. Later, he dedicated his services to Mid- Cumberland, Transporting the elderly.

Mr. James Burnley leaves to cherish his memories, a very loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Burnley, four loving daughters, Teresa (Donald) Locke, Cindy Ann Burnley, Donna Burnley, Rogetta Burnley. Two step Sons Samuel (Tiffiney) Hammock, Mark (Anglea) Hammock, two brothers, Sammy (Mary Katherine) Burnley, Don Burnley and two siblings that preceded him in death, Mary Smith & Eugene "Smiley" Burnley, three brothers-in-law, Franklin( Faye) Harper, Robert (Susan) Harper, Odell (Georgia) Harper, One sister-in-law, Patricia (David) Randolph, one aunt Sadie Luster, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, devoted niece Sandra( Willie) Dotson, special friends: The Russell Family, Fannie Branham, Clara Mae Rogan, Eva Mae Hogan, and his driving buddies Gerald, Bert, and Daniel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,and friends.
