Nine siblings preceded M.D. in death: Mattie Marshall, Agnes Smith, Katie L. Gregory, Virgil Harper, Clifton Harper, John (Cedar) Carl Harper, Carney Harper, Arthur Lewis(Honey Bee) Harper, and Marie Smith.
